Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 May 2026
Agreement
By accessing or using the Grounding app ("the app"), provided by Kate Ramsay Counselling ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Not a medical service
The app provides educational and self-help grounding, breathing and mindfulness tools. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not establish a therapeutic relationship. If you are in crisis, contact Samaritans on 116 123 (UK), NHS 111, or your local emergency services.
Eligibility
You must be 16 or over to use the app. By creating an account you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful, harmful or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its backend.
- Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes the rights of others.
- Use the AI chat assistant to generate harmful, deceptive or abusive content.
Your content
You retain ownership of any journal entries, quiz responses or messages you submit. We store this content only to provide the app's features to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
All app content, design, text, graphics and software (excluding your own content) are owned by Kate Ramsay Counselling or our licensors and are protected by UK and international copyright laws. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial use only.
AI-generated content
The in-app chat assistant uses third-party AI models. Responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial or other professional decisions.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the app available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new terms.
